The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will get a boost from a Rockville bank, and is changing up its summer rock program after last year’s Led Zeppelin performance.
HarVest Bank of Maryland, headquartered in Gaithersburg, signed a two-year agreement to support the BSO at Strathmore, including a $25,000 sponsorship of the “Pictures of Music” concert in February 2010. Maestra Marin Alsop will conduct the program featuring Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition.”
It will be the fifth year that HarVest Bank provided concert sponsorship to the BSO at Strathmore. Previous concerts have starred Art Garfunkel, and works by Gershwin, Copland and Vivaldi.
